Julia it was such a pleasure to do your bridal session. You looked beautiful and I hope you enjoy your photographs. I wish you a Mike the best in your new life. Enjoy!

I'm Andres Castaneda and I'm a lifestyle photographer based in Los Angeles, California. I have two full time jobs, one as a photographer and the other as a family man. Both I was meant to be. Both I would die if I couldn’t do. Though I've photographed hundred of happy families and couples, my greatest joy this year was seeing my son smile at me for the first time. Incredible.
Three years ago, I opened my doors to the world and I’ve developed a brand that speaks to collaboration, creativity and empowering clients to be part of the creative process versus just being on the receiving end. Social media has been my greatest friend and the vehicle to allow my clients to become the voice of my brand.
I live with my beautiful wife Vanessa, my three fantastic children (Tessa, Sienna and Andres) and our super cool dog, Bailey. I live for my family and struggle with putting the camera down to be in the pictures, but I see the world through my camera’s lens. It’s a double-edged sword. I love to eat pizza. I love running around Travel Town with my kids and photographing the world around me. I strive to be the best at my labor of love and in the process help people experience happiness. God had been good to me. I love my life.
Drop me a line. I it would awesome to chat with you about your project, my work or about the best pizza joints in town. :)
Take care, Andres.

A couple of weeks ago, I had the great pleasure of photographing the wedding of two of the nicest, most humble and deeply in love couples I’ve photographed to date. Kerv and Sona’s amazing wedding was situated at the exclusive Altadena Town and County Club in Altadena, CA.
When I have the opportunity to photograph weddings like theirs, it makes me smile and think back at how punch drunk in love Vanessa and I were on our wedding day and continue to be with every moment we have together. Got to love it.
Here is a sample of their images. I hope they make you go home and give a little love to your significant other.

There is nothing like shooting on a white seamless background. It makes the subject just pop in both color and BW.
The key to using this background is making sure that your background light does not bounce back and hit your subject. I used flags to make sure the light did not contaminate the subject. I also made sure she was about 10 feet from the background. Lastly, I used a shoot-through umbrella as my key light.
The images came out like we wanted and we had a great time. Take a look at the pictures of Amber Plaster, an up and coming model.

Last week I had the great opportunity to photograph Sienah Pablo, a young folklorico dancer from Folklorico Popurri Dance Company. Sienah is an enthusiastic and hard working dancer that loves to dance folklorico.
Her mom mentioned that she practices four days a week and performs on the weekends. It’s a great commitment on Sienah’s part, but also for her mom, as she is the one that takes her to practices and competitions. I commend her mother, Cinthya, on her commitment and for passing along her families culture and dance traditions.
I uploaded a few pictures from our session for your viewing pleasure. I was playing around with some photoshop techniques to give the images somewhat of a vintage look. They remind me of some old Mexican films we used to watch as a child.
I hope you enjoy them.

Last week my mom turned 60 and while many people see this milestone as a low point in their lives, my mother has embraced it and is running with it. She is loving, kind, giving and purely amazing.
In these 60 years she has won several bouts with cancer, serious back injuries and other events that would have turned the average person into a pessimist. The amazing thing about her is that those events have just solidified her faith and belief that there is always a silver lining in the challenges in our lives.
She taught me the definition of determination, humility, courage and the power of love. Without her I would not be the man I am today.
Happy birthday mom and thank you for being the amazing person your are.
I took some pictures of her this past weekend at her Birthday picnic. I love these sun drenched pictures of her. She looks amazing.
